This feast celebrates the Ascension of Jesus. In the New Testament, Jesus was taken up to Heaven after his resurrection. Eleven of his disciples were gathered there, watching Christ ascend into the skies. Traditionally, Jesus is shown blessing those below with his right hand. The Ascension is the 2nd Glorious Mystery of the Rosary. The Feast of the Ascension of Jesus occurs 40 days after Easter each spring.
