Saint Michael the Archangel coloring page: September 29th
The name Michael has its origins in Hebrew, meaning “Who is like God?” He was the leader of the good angels in the battle against satan and the devils. St. Michael is mentioned several times in the Bible: in the Book of Daniel, in the Book of Revelation, and in the Epistle of Jude. It is this last book that refers to Michael as “the archangel Michael.” The Prayer to St. Michael calls upon St. Michael as the defender of the Church and her people.
St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
