Free Printable: Dress your Lego Minifigure as Mother Teresa!
Hands down, one of the best things about Lego is its versatility. The same blocks used to make a Stars Wars set can be dismantled to create an image of baby Moses floating down the Nile in a basket. And some of the bricks used to create a Lego City scene can be pulled apart to and rebuilt to become a scene in the life of Saint Valentine.
And an ordinary Lego minifigure can be transformed into one of the most extraordinary women of the 20th century….
Here is a super simple way to make a normal minifigure look like Mother Teresa (or a Missionary of Charity sister).
You will need:
– this free printable template
– a minifigure
– scissors and a hole punch
– glue
The template prints on one page and has approximately five minifigure habits. You can print the template by clicking the image below.
For the minifigure, we used all white clothes. The design on the front doesn’t matter so much as it gets completely covered by the paper habit.
Once you have printed the template, begin cutting out the individual shapes. The longer, rectangular pieces are the actually sari. Use a hole punch (or a pair scissors) to remove the circle marked in the very center.
Remove the minifigure head and place the paper sari over the neck. Replace the head….
…and fold the sari down over the minifigure body.
Next comes the veil. Cut out a veil from the template by cutting down ALL solid black lines.
Carefully overlap the small white triangle so that the dotted black line is not longer visible. Glue shut.
Repeat this step so that both white triangles are covered.
The veil should now have a bit shape.
We pinched the veil on both sides of the minifigure head to give a bit more shape and applied small dots of glue (to the paper only) to hold it in place.
This is what the veil should look like at this point.
We also bent the paper just a bit so that there was a small crease down the back. This helps it fit the minifigure head better. From there, the veil should fit pretty comfortably! What do you think? 😉
