Saint Therese-inspired bed canopy
When I die, I will send down a shower of roses from the heavens,
I will spend my heaven by doing good on earth.”
― Saint Thérèse of Lisieux
Because our younger sister’s patron saint is Saint Therese of Lisieux, we decided to make this simple bed canopy for her- inspired by the saint’s desire to
shower down roses upon the earth.
We put this canopy together in less than 20 minutes with the following materials:
2 curtain panels
embroidery hoop
roses
4 foot length of ribbon
swag hook or ceiling hook
First, loosen the screw from the embroidery hoop and removed the inner wooden hoop. Only the outer hoop is needed. Next, slide your curtain panels onto the hoop.
Refasten the screw.
Next, tie one end of the ribbon directly over the screw to cover it up and tie the other end of ribbon on the opposite side of the hoop.
Then, attach your hook to the ceiling above where you’d like the canopy to hang.
You could attach your flowers to your fabric before you hang it…
…but we wanted to attach them with a hot glue gun once the canopy was in place over the bed.
the completed project…
